# Funding your Outcome account with USDC

This page covers how to fund your Outcome account, what to expect during deposits, and what to do if something goes wrong.

Outcome settles in USDC. How you deposit depends on what you're starting with: if you already hold USDC, you bridge it in directly; if you're starting from another asset, it's converted to USDC on the way in.

To deposit:

1. Open the Deposit panel in [outcome.xyz](http://outcome.xyz).
2. Select the chain you're depositing from.
3. Choose the asset you want to send.
4. Enter the amount.
5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

### Depositing USDC

If you already hold USDC, you deposit it through Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), which moves native USDC across chains. Open the Deposit panel in [outcome.xyz](http://outcome.xyz), select the chain your USDC is on, enter the amount, and confirm in your wallet. Your USDC is bridged to Hyperliquid, ready to trade.

### Depositing other assets

If you're starting from a non-USDC asset, Outcome routes the deposit through [Across](https://across.to/), which converts it to USDC on the way in. Open the Deposit panel, select the chain and asset you're sending, enter the amount, and confirm. The asset is converted to USDC when it arrives. You don't need to acquire USDC ahead of time or manage the conversion yourself.

### Fees and timing

**Fees.** CCTP deposits incur network costs. Across deposits incur an Across bridge fee, set by Across and varying by source chain and asset. Either way, the cost is shown in the deposit interface before you confirm.

**Timing.** Most deposits arrive within a few minutes. Larger amounts or less common routes may take longer.

### Where deposits appear

Funds arrive as USDC in your account. You'll see the balance in your portfolio on [outcome.xyz](http://outcome.xyz), ready to trade.

There is no separate "Outcome account." Your balance is tied to the wallet you connected, not to any specific app interface.

### Common issues

**Deposit taking longer than expected.** Cross-chain transfers can occasionally experience delays due to network congestion. Check the transaction status on the source chain's block explorer to confirm it was processed.

**Transaction failed on the source chain.** Your funds remain there and no bridge fee is charged. Try again.

**Anything else.** Save the source transaction hash before reaching out for help. It's the first thing needed to investigate any deposit issue.
