# Activate the 4% Hyperliquid trading fee discount

When you sign up for Outcome, you have the option to activate a referral code on your Hyperliquid account, giving you a 4% discount on Hyperliquid trading fees.

### What this means in practice

The discount applies to the taker fees you'd otherwise pay on Hyperliquid, including the taker fees when closing positions on Outcome. It stacks with your other Hyperliquid fee adjustments. See [Fees](07-fees.md) for how the full fee schedule works.

### Volume cap

The referral discount applies for your first \$25 million of trading volume across all Hyperliquid products (not just Outcome). After you exceed \$25M, the referral discount no longer applies, but your other Hyperliquid discounts (tier-based, HYPE staking) continue.

### How to activate it

The option is presented during your first sign-up. If you skip it then, you can activate it later from your profile page on [outcome.xyz](http://outcome.xyz). Once activated, the discount applies to your Hyperliquid trading fees going forward.
